WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET:
So many of our guests comment that they are amazed
when they get to their cabin and find that “it’s exactly like on the
web site”! Well, that’s because it is! We take the photos ourselves
and try to keep them updated and fresh! Because of the homey nature
of our cabins, each one has its own special characteristics. Find
one made just for you!
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT TIMES:
Check-in time is 3:00 PM or after. Check-out time is by 11:00 AM.
We cannot accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs. You are
expected to leave the cabin in the condition in which you found it
with dishes washed and trash in proper receptacles. Please secure
the cabin when departing.
LOCATION:
Our cabins are located on individually owned, private and
secluded properties in The Hocking Hills of southeastern Ohio. Our
cabins are not grouped together so you will have your own private
haven. The cabin properties range from 3 acres all the way up to 83
acres per property. Some cabins even have their own hiking trails.
You will be given exact directions to your cabin. Addresses of cabins are NOT given out prior to check-in.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY:
Each cabin has a maximum number of guests allowed. NO VISITORS
ALLOWED, registered and paid guests only, please.
SMOKING:
Smoking is prohibited at ALL cabins. Smoking is permitted outside
on the decks, ashtrays or sand pails provided. Please respect our
properties and do not litter the area with cigarette butts
PETS:
Pets are allowed at select cabins. (See
OUR CABINS for complete list) There is a one time $30 pet fee
per pet (maximum 2 please). We allow well mannered and housebroken
pets. Pets must be noted on your reservation and pre-approved by
Lazy Lane Cabins. If a pet is found in a non-pet friendly cabin,
there will be a $60 charge and you may be asked to leave. Pets are
not to be left alone in cabin unless they are crated. Your
pets are more than welcome to visit the trails and state parks as
long as they are on a leash. Please note that pets are NOT
permitted in the State Nature Preserves, such as Conkle’s Hollow and
Rock Bridge.
WHAT IS SUPPLIED AT YOUR CABIN:
All of our cabins are completely furnished. The kitchens are
fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove (with the exception of the
Caboose which does not have a stove, it does have a gas grill
outside), coffee maker (with filters) and a microwave. The kitchens
are equipped with basic cookware, dishes, utensils, pots and pans.
We provide a starter supply only of paper towels, toilet tissue and
dishwashing soap. Towels and linens are provided (unless you choose
our Maid’s Day Off Discount which
means you bring your own towels and linens). There is also a gas
grill at each cabin with propane provided. Please do not use
charcoal in the gas grill. If there is a specialty item you need for
cooking we suggest you bring it with you.
SUGGESTED ITEMS TO BRING:
Food (including coffee/tea), toiletries (we do not provide bath
soap), DVDs, beach towels, flashlight, games and books, camera,
binoculars, hiking boots, bug spray, matches and a prepaid calling
card (see Telephones). All of our cabins have well water and
although the water is perfectly safe, you may want to bring bottled
water.
HOT TUBS:
All cabins have hot tubs (with the exception of the Caboose, Windsong & Echo).
Sky Breeze has a 2 person indoor Jacuzzi tub rather than a hot tub. Hot
tubs are operational year round. Hot tubs are cleaned and sanitized
prior to and after each guests’ use. For extended stays, your hot
tub will be checked on the third day of your stay and every other
day thereafter. Proper chemical maintenance of hot tub water is
necessary to maintain safe water and prevent possible damage to hot
tub components. Please abide by hot tub
procedures, rules, and precautions.
HOUSEKEEPING:
We do not provide daily maid service. Your cabin will be cleaned
especially for you prior to your arrival. We will do everything we
can to make sure your cabin is ready for your stay. It is our
mission to provide you the cleanest cabin in the Hocking Hills so
that you will become a guest for a lifetime. However, there are rare
occasions that your cabin might not be fully presentable by 3 p.m.
or when your hot tub won't be warm until later in the evening.
SATELLITE TV:
All of our cabins have satellite television with the exception of
the Caboose and Arrowhead Bluff which have DVD players. From time to
time, satellite TV, appliances, hot tubs, water and electricity etc.
will break down or malfunction. While we can not refund any monies
due to these issues that may be beyond our control, we will respond
as quickly as we can to make repairs and restore amenities.
FIREPLACES:
Most of our cabins have some type of fireplace. Electric
fireplaces are operational year round. Gas and wood burning
fireplaces are seasonal.
FIREWOOD:
Most cabins have a fire pit for camp fires. We do not supply
firewood. You can purchase firewood locally. We ask that you DO
NOT bring firewood from out of the area. Exotic insect pests
like Emerald Ash Borer are a major threat to Ohio’s 19 million acres
of forest. The Emerald Ash Borer, as well as other invasive insects,
can become established when infested firewood is transported to new
areas. Please obey Smokey Bear’s camp fire safety rules of the
forest and make sure you douse your camp fire completely before
leaving your cabin or going to bed.
PHONES/CELL PHONES:
All of our cabins have telephones. The phone can be used for
local, toll free and emergency 911 calls only. If you would like to
make long distance calls you will need a calling card or credit
card. We suggest you bring a prepaid calling card with you for long
distance calls. You may or may not have cell phone service in the
area due to the hills and forest.
FINDING YOUR WAY AROUND:
You will find a full color magazine, the Hocking Hills Visitor’s
Guide, in your cabin. This guide includes maps of the area and info
on all the attractions. The roads in the Hocking Hills region are
very hilly and winding. Most of our driveways are gravel and there
are gravel roads around the area. Main routes are paved and well
maintained roads. Take some time to explore our back roads and see
some out of the way sights.
GROCERY STORES:
In Logan you will find a super Wal-Mart (Intersection of Routes
33 & 664) and Kroger (Route 664N across river, turn left) There are
a few general stores located throughout the hills and parks area,
within a short drive of most cabins.
RESTAURANTS:
There is a wide variety of restaurants to choose from in the area
from fine dining to fast food. The Visitor’s Guide supplied in your
cabin also has a section for dining. Also, please visit our link for
Things to Do.
GAS STATIONS:
In Logan you will find Speedway at Routes 93 & 33 and at Route
664 N. There is a gas station at the Wal-Mart at Routes 33 & 664.
ELECTRICAL OUTAGES:
Unfortunately we do have electrical outages once in awhile. We
suggest you bring a flashlight for emergencies. From time to time,
satellite TV, appliances, hot tubs, water and electricity etc. will
break down or malfunction. While we can not refund any monies due to
these issues that may be beyond our control, we will respond as
quickly as we can to make repairs and restore amenities.
WOODLAND CREATURES AND INSECTS:
We do have our cabins professionally exterminated, but they are
not bug proof. Please remember you are in the forest, and we have
invaded their habitat, so chances are you will see insects and
spiders. You most likely will encounter various woodland creatures
such as deer, wild turkey, raccoons, squirrels and a wide variety of
birds for bird watching. Please do not feed or approach wildlife. Do
not leave food out at night, you may have uninvited guests at your
cabin.
WINTER WEATHER:
Our cabins are open year round. Winter is one of the most
beautiful seasons in the hills, with the forest open to view the
ridges and wildlife. A few of our driveways are steep, but we do our
best to keep snow and ice removed so that your cabin will be
accessible. No refunds due to inclement weather.
HUNTING, FIREARMS, FIREWORKS AND ATV’S:
Hunting, firearms, including paintball and air guns, and
fireworks are NOT permitted on any of our properties. You may
bring your ATV to the property, but you cannot ride it on the
property. There are ATV trails in the Wayne National Forest near
Nelsonville about a half hour drive from most cabins. Please see our
THINGS TO DO link.
SWIMMING and FISHING:
We do not have swimming pools at our cabins. We have a few cabins
that have ponds for either fishing or swimming (at your own risk).
There is an outdoor swimming pool (seasonal) at the Hocking Hills
State Park Lodge located on State Route 664S that is available for
public use for a small day use fee. Lake Logan is also nearby and
has a public beach, fishing and boat rentals. No fishing license is
required at our cabins since they are on private property, but you
will need a license at Lake Logan.
PRIVATE CHEF AND MASSAGES:
You can schedule a private chef to come to your cabin and prepare
a meal for you. You can also schedule a private massage in your
cabin. Please refer to our Romantic
Add-Ons link.
THE APPALACHIAN AREA:
“The Hocking Hills region is in Appalachia, an area rich in
history, cultural diversity, arts, craftsmen and beautiful scenery.
You may find that we live “life in the slow lane” so please breathe
in our clean fresh air, relax and enjoy our beautiful surroundings
that we call home. Please enjoy your visit with Lazy Lane Cabins.
We look forward to having you! ”
Your Hosts,
Ron & Debra Stephenson
